VCMI is an open source engine with the purpose to rewrite the entirety of Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (optionally with WoG) from scratch, giving it new and extended possibilities. In short, it is Heroes 3 remake from scratch.
It requires the original game files to run, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGO1I3asquY for more information on how to install it (skip the first video part with installing VCMI itself from external source).
VCMI is still in development. Expect crashes and bugs (on a bright side it seems to run a lot better than the old port that was available before)
How to install VCMI for Android APK bundles for Android
Once you have downloaded an Android App Bundle, you can install it using a dedicated app bundle installer app. You can install .apks, .xapk, split apk files, and unencrypted .apkm files using the Split APKs Installer (SAI). SAI is considered the gold standard for installing app bundles in the Android community. Here’s how to use the SAI app to install split apks. Download VCMI for Android APK file (is.xyz.vcmi_1451_22121552.zip) from APKBundles.com, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page
- Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
- Check the Unknown Sources box
- Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
- Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
- Download Split APKs Installer (SAI)
- Download and unzip file you already downloaded (is.xyz.vcmi_1451_22121552.zip)
- Open Split APKs Installer and follow steps on this app.
- Tap Install when prompted, the APK file you downloaded will be installed on your device.
