ChessEye improves your rating through chess visualization and calculation training. Old chess masters got stronger through self play, analysis, playing strong opponents and analyzing games with them. ChessEye makes you a better at chess by replicating the same process.
❗TACTIC TRAINERS ARE FLAWED
A normal tactics trainer gives puzzles which have a sequence of moves that lead to a forced win or a draw. They might even tell you what theme a puzzle belongs to E.g. Mate-in-1, Mate-in-2, smothered mate, pin, fork, skewer, sacrifice and underpromotion etc. This is different from a chess game because
❌ You already know there is a tactic in the position.
❌ Neglects strategic positions, planning and defense.
❌ It builds bad calculation habits.
❌ Positions are limited to those that have only one correct move.
❌ Doesn't force the player to calculate till the end
❌ Doesn't ask you to evaluate the position
💪 BUILD CALCULATION HABITS & DISCIPLINE
ChessEye gives a random mix of positions. You have to visualize the chessboard, calculate variations & come up with a plan. Then you enter your moves with algebraic notation. You cannot move pieces on the board. This approach has many advantages:
