【XRAINとは】
国土交通省により整備が進められている最新式レーダ「XバンドMPレーダ」による気象観測網。
従来のレーダに比べ5倍の頻度、16倍の分解能での観測でき、ほぼリアル゠イムで配䠡が可能。
雨量の推定精度も高いため、局地的な豪雨（ゲリラ豪雨）の早期発見・監視を担うものと期待されている。
